    The Texas Crime Victim Clearinghouse is excited to announce the 2017 Texas Victim Assistance Academy (TVAT). The TVAT Academy will provide a four-day, in-person foundational level victim assistance training for new victim services advocates, victim assistance providers, volunteers, criminal justice professionals, and allied professionals with less than three years’ experience who routinely work with victims of crime.

    REGISTRATION FEE:   There is no registration fee. Box lunches will be included the first three days of the training, however, hotel, travel, and other meal costs are the responsibility of the attendee.

    Please encourage advocates with less than 3 years’ experience to apply for this academy. Benefits of attendance at the TVAT Academy include acquisition of foundational skills necessary to serving people who have been victims of traumatic crime; recognition of specialized victim service training and experience; curriculum demonstrates commitment to victim-centered service delivery and professional development; and networking opportunities with other professionals.

    TAASA will cover travel expenses associated with this conference. TAASA will also cover registration fees for the National Sexual Assault Conference as well. 

    There is room for 2 officers from each college or university to attend. 

    TCOLE Credits will be available for this conference

     Experts from across the country will present on sexual assault issues related to prevention, investigations & report writing, and creating violence-free and safe campuses.

    PLEASE NOTE:

    TAASA will make ALL HOTEL ROOM RESERVATIONS for each registered participant. There is no need for you to reserve on your own. Please indicate which nights you need a reservation by clicking the appropriate buttons when prompted during the registration process. With the exception of attendees in the local DFW area, all of you will check in on Tuesday June 6th, 2017. 

    TAASA will also cover all travel expenses associated with your attendance. That includes mileage, flights to and from Dallas, shuttle to and from the airport, parking, and daily per diem.
